Course Outline

This two day class is best suited for professional report authors and developers who need the ability to use the more advanced techniques of Report Studio.

During this advanced portion of the class, emphasis will be placed on techniques developed in the field by our consultants, and as such will not be found in any other classes.

Each topic will be highlighted with in-depth workshops, question and answer sessions and tips and techniques drawn from over 12 plus years of cross industry experience.

Observations

The curriculum is based on the most recent version of IBM Cognos 8 Report Studio, and uses the sample data sources included in the IBM Cognos BI 8 Samples package.

All our instructors are IBM Cognos certified report authors. In addition, they provide the benefit of having up to 12 years of real-world experience.

Our manuals are aimed at self-study.

Pre-requisites

A good comprehension of Microsoft Windows and the Office suite is mandatory.
IBM Cognos 8 Report Studio knowledge is required.

High-level Curriculum

  • Create complex query results and join queries

  • Learn how to reuse existing report objects

  • Distribute reports using bursting

  • Create advanced dynamic reports

  • Add Dashboard components Control report objects through effective prompting

  • Enhance the user interaction by modifying report and prompt pages with HTML and JavaScript
